Location: Negotiable within South Australia

Classification: SCHADS Level 6 (TRP $100,000–$120,000)

Term: 24-month contract

About Us

The Family Violence Legal Service Aboriginal Corporation (FVLSAC) is a respected Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation providing legal and non-legal support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander victim-survivors of family and sexual violence across South Australia.

Our head office is based in Port Lincoln, with existing offices in Ceduna and Port Lincoln. We are currently undertaking a staged service expansion under the National Access to Justice Partnership (NAJP), with Adelaide, Mount Gambier, and Murray Bridge being the new locations to join our service footprint. This growth will enable us to reach more communities and deliver culturally safe, trauma-informed legal and support services across the state.

About the Role

Reporting to the CEO, the Project Officer – Expansion and Pilot Implementation will coordinate the staged roll-out of new service locations, ensuring all activities are planned, implemented, reviewed, and reported in line with funding, governance, and cultural safety requirements.

Key aspects of the role include:

Coordinating work plans, timelines, and deliverables for expansion and pilot programs.

Liaising with internal teams, community stakeholders, and government partners to ensure culturally safe, trauma-informed delivery.

Consulting and negotiating sensitively with Aboriginal communities, organisations, and individuals.

Monitoring risks, preparing reports, and supporting governance processes.

Representing FVLSAC at senior-level meetings and forums.

Maintaining a strong working knowledge of community and complementary services to enhance service integration.

Key Requirements

Essential

Demonstrated experience in planning, implementing, reviewing, and reporting on complex projects, preferably in legal, health, justice, or community service settings.

Strong awareness of issues affecting local Aboriginal people as they relate to FVLSAC’s services.

Proven capacity to consult and negotiate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal communities, organisations, and individuals.

Demonstrated integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters.

High-level organisational skills and the ability to work without close supervision while maintaining self-motivation.

Capacity to represent the organisation at meetings and forums at senior level.

A working knowledge of community and complementary services relevant to FVLSAC’s client base.

Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal, including preparation of reports, briefs, and other documentation.

Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.

Understanding of cultural safety principles and commitment to culturally safe practices.

Desirable

Knowledge of the family violence service system.

Experience working in or with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs).

Tertiary qualifications in project management, law, policy, or a related field.
