We are currently seeking an efficient and skilled Broiler Farm Assistant or Relief Manager to join our team at Darlington Point, NSW, 2706.

The position of Breeder Farm Assistant /Relief Manager is primarily responsible, in the absence of the Farm Manager, for achieving maximum productivity and liveability for the breeder farm (as measured against agreed key performance indicators) and ensuring all work is carried out according to Baiada safety standards and policies.

The process includes shed set-up, chick placement, grow out, pickup and clean out operations on the breeder farm.

The position reports to the Breeder Farm Manager and has working relationships with the cleanout crew, the maintenance staff, Baiada contractors, other breeder farm staff and relevant livestock clerical staff as required. The Farm Assistant/Relief Manager is also responsible for, in the absence of the Farm Manager, for the management of the Baiada workplace injury management system on the breeder farm.

Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):

The position is also responsible for supervision of other areas of the breeder farm as agreed with the Regional Livestock Manager and Livestock Area Manager.

Working to Baiada standards including Minimum operating standards

SQF Quality standards

Bio security

Workplace Injury Management Systems

Environmental Management System (EMS)

Workplace Health and Safety System (WHS)

Chain of responsibility policies and procedures (CoR)

All staff and contractors working on the breeder farm report directly to the Breeder Farm Manager.

Requirements:

Previous experience in livestock management

Current driver’s license (ability to drive a tractor where applicable)

Proven animal husbandry skills

Proven skills in management of personnel

A sound knowledge of quality systems, WHS and CoR procedures and an understanding of how day to day activities could impact on the environment.

Experience in the poultry industry, specifically breeder farming

Undertake Certificate III in Poultry Production qualification (if required)

A pre-employment medical, as well as a national criminal record check may be required as part of our recruitment process.
