Roper Gulf Regional Council is seeking a proactive and skilled Assets Maintenance Coordinator to join our Infrastructure Services & Planning team. As the Assets Maintenance Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation, safety, and upkeep of Roper Gulf Regional Council’s built assets. This includes offices, staff housing, maintenance sheds, and equipment across multiple remote communities.
You’ll be the central point of contact for all maintenance-related activities, working closely with contractors, internal teams, and executive management to deliver timely and cost-effective solutions. Your work will directly support the Council’s Asset Management Plan and contribute to the long-term sustainability of infrastructure in the region.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Coordination: Receive, assess, and process maintenance requests daily. Prioritize tasks and ensure timely resolution
Asset Inspections: Conduct regular inspections, including tenancy rental checks, and document asset conditions.
Reporting & Budgeting: Prepare monthly reports, manage budgets for repairs, and recommend improvements.
Contractor Management: Engage and oversee contractors, ensuring compliance with Council policies and safety standards.
Scheduled Maintenance: Develop and maintain a proactive maintenance schedule for all properties.
Insurance & Claims: Handle building, fleet, and property insurance claims efficiently.
Team Oversight: Supervise the Assets Administration Officer and collaborate with other business units.
Asset Register Updates: Assist in maintaining an accurate and up-to-date built assets register.
What we are Looking For :
Trade qualification or Certificate IV in a relevant field, with strong experience in civil infrastructure and asset maintenance.
Skilled in inspections, record-keeping, budgeting, and reporting, with high attention to detail and time management
Strong computer literacy, including use of corporate systems, databases, and spreadsheets for asset tracking and reporting.
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively, supervise staff, and liaise with contractors and internal teams
Independent and Reliable
Capable of working autonomously, managing logistics for remote service delivery, and physically/mentally fit for the role.
Salary & Benefits:
Base Salary:$79,862.13 to $87,796.37 per annum (depending on experience)
Leave Entitlements: 6 weeks annual leave + 10 days personal/sick leave
