Our Client is a Federal Government Agency looking for suitably experienced Rehabilitation Case Managers to join their People & Culture Team.

The opportunity is a non-ongoing contract for 12 months with possibility of extension.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Undertake efficient and effective delivery of end to end health case management activities for injured or ill employees including compensation claims and non-compensation cases, early intervention injury management, return to work and reasonable adjustments relating to health issues;
  • Working collaboratively with all stakeholders, develop efficient case management solutions based on relevant legislation, policies and procedures;
  • Actively manage rehabilitation providers to ensure safe and durable rehabilitation outcomes;
  • Provide accurate and timely HR/WHS advice and support to managers;
  • Support the WHS team with incident and hazard reporting and intervention activities, including stakeholder engagement, incident investigation and corrective action management;
  • Maintain consistent and effective records and produce accurate data and reports via proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Assist in reviewing and developing WHS related policies and procedures;
  • Assist in the planning and management of wellbeing programs and initiatives including events and awareness raising activities.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualifications in HR/WHS and/or equivalent experience working in a Rehabilitation Case Manager role;
  • An understanding of relevant APS, WHS and SRC Act legislation in the Australian Public Service environment;
  • High level communication, relationship building, interpersonal and influencing skills, including ability to coach and educate leaders on best practice people management;
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and dispute resolution skills;
  • High level organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to effectively prioritise requests while maintaining high standards and accuracy;
  • Ability to support strategic direction and understand business challenges and drivers;
  • Self-motivated, cooperative team-player with integrity, drive and resilience;
  • High level skills using Microsoft Office applications including Excel, ability to use HR systems and to manage confidential and sensitive information;
  • Strong understanding of the SRC Act and APS Act in connection to APS employment practices.
  • Strong understanding of the SRC Act and applicable processes under the scheme including workplace provider engagement and management.
