Ventia is seeking a proactive and experienced SHEQ / WHS Manager to lead safety, health, environment and quality initiatives as part of our AGFMA contract. Based in Adelaide, this role works closely with operational and support teams to drive compliance, foster continuous improvement and strengthen a culture of safety across metropolitan and regional sites.

The Across Government Facilities Management Arrangement (AGFMA) delivers essential services to over 5,000 government sites across 48 agencies in South Australia. Ventia partners with local small to medium businesses to provide these services to communities statewide, every day of the year.

About the role

  • Lead SHEQ strategy and ensure compliance with WHS legislation, standards, and codes of practice.
  • Provide expert guidance and training to site teams and subcontractors.
  • Conduct audits, lead ICAM investigations, and deliver actionable insights to improve safety outcomes.
  • Champion a safe working culture through active engagement and education.
  • Collaborate with Ventia's HIMS team on injury management and return-to-work processes.
  • Analyse safety data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain strong relationships across the AGFMA contract and Ventia's SHEQ network.

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications in WHS/SHEQ.
  • ICAM accreditation.
  • Lead Auditor qualification.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Strong understanding of WHS legislation and certified management systems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to travel intrastate and interstate as required.
