About the opportunity
We’re looking for a Business Support Officer - WHS who thrives in a collaborative environment and is ready to support Council, in particularly our highest risk area being Infrastructure and Environment Department, with its WHS safe systems of work, actively contributing to organisational awareness and ensuring our safety systems meet high standards, that will directly contribute to a safer, healthier workplace for all.
You’ll also:
Support WHS programs and ensure legislative compliance.
Provide administrative support for WHS focused committees.
Assist with hazard, incident, workplace emergency and WHS contractor management.
Contribute to the development and implementation of WHS policies, WHS inductions, training, and wellbeing initiatives.

To be successful in this role we’re after someone who is:
Qualified with a Certificate III in (Business) Administration or similar with experience in a similar position.
Knowledge of WHS within self-insured or similar environments would be highly regarded.
Tech-savvy, with strong skills in Microsoft Office is essential and Skytrust would be advantageous.
A great communicator, with high emotional intelligence and a collaborative mindset.
Organised and adaptable, able to manage priorities and support business objectives.

This role is initially based at Kapunda, about 25 minutes from Gawler, but will work predominately from our Freeling Office and will report directly to the Organisational Development Manager with technical guidance from the WHS Coordinator.
