The role:
- Audio-Visual / ICT Support Officer (L1).
- Full-time contract starting ASAP until 19 December 2025, including Term 3 holidays.
- 8am-4pm Monday-Friday, fully onsite (WFH not available) - some flexibility required on daily span of hours.
- Occasional after hours and weekend work required for special events (paid at applicable overtime rates).
- Reports to the ICT Client Services Manager in a wider team of 8.
Key duties:
- Provide first-level AV support in classrooms, meeting rooms, and event spaces, with the ability to assist with general ICT issues when required.
- Set up, operate, and pack down AV equipment for school events, including sound, lighting, video, live streaming, and presentation support.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware, software, and connectivity issues across macOS, iPadOS, and Windows devices.
- Manage AV and ICT Support Desk tickets, including accurate logging, tracking, escalation, and timely resolution.
- Maintain and manage portable AV equipment inventory, bookings, and safe storage.
- Prepare and test multimedia files (videos, audio, presentations) to ensure smooth delivery during events.
- Assist with device onboarding, configuration, and management of laptops, desktops, and tablets.
- Ensure all AV setups comply with safety standards.
- Work collaboratively within the ICT team and confidently liaise with event facilitators, senior leadership, students and staff.
The ideal candidate:
- Demonstrated experience with live event AV operation, including sound mixing, lighting control, camera operation, and presentation support.
- Ability to resolve Level 1 ICT helpdesk queries.
- Confident supporting macOS, iPadOS, and Windows environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to remain calm and think quickly under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
- High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive in following up to ensure issues are fully resolved and events run smoothly.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative when required.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekend hours for school events.
- A communicative and relational team player who makes a positive contribution to the life and culture of Kambala.

Founded in 1887, we cater for students from Preparatory (4yo) to Year 12, with boarders entering the school from Year 7. Kambala also offers an Early Learning School from six months of age to five years.
