Our Client

Our client is a well-established Sydney CBD accounting firm seeking an experienced Senior Accountant/Supervisor to join their team on a Part-time basis. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a mix of hands-on technical work and leadership responsibilities, with the flexibility of 3 or 4 days a week.

The Role

You’ll be managing workflow, reviewing work prepared by junior staff, and providing technical support while also delivering high-quality client outcomes. The client portfolio is varied, covering SMEs, high-net-worth individuals, SMSFs, and complex structures. You’ll also be involved in high-level projects such as ATO Top 500 Reviews and audits.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and finalise financial statements and tax returns prepared by junior staff
• Provide mentoring, training, and technical guidance
• Prepare interim and annual accounts and income tax returns across all entity types
• Complete BAS, IAS, STP lodgements, payroll tax reconciliations, and FBT returns
• Deliver tax planning and advisory services
• Assist with significant projects including ATO reviews and audits
• Oversee bank reconciliations, P&L, balance sheets, and asset registers
• Handle correspondence and disputes with the ATO and other agencies
• Draft and manage client communications

About You

• CA/CPA qualified with 7+ years’ experience in business services and tax
• Skilled in reviewing and mentoring junior team members
• Strong technical expertise across a broad range of entities
• Excellent communicator who can build rapport with clients and colleagues
• Organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities
• Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident, living in Sydney

• $115k–$120k package pro rata
• Flexible part-time: 3 or 4 days per week
