- Base Salary $112,628 - $122,702 + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The Australian Centre for Robotics (ACFR) is seeking two Senior Software Engineers to contribute to the development, testing, and deployment of ground and/or airborne robotic systems, with a focus on software systems design.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will:
- Design, deploy and manage R&D software projects in field robotics
- Engage with industry partners and the public
- Support the team lead and project manager in planning, risk management, field trials, and report writing
- Occasionally travel to rural NSW and/or interstate to support fieldwork
About you
- A degree in Computer, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent)
- Strong programming experience (C++, Python, Bash, Matlab; min. 3 years)
- Experience with Linux systems and/or Robot Operating System (ROS)
- Knowledge of object-oriented design, multithreaded/multiprocess applications
- Ability to work independently and solve technical problems in the field
- Experience with ML, point cloud/image processing, path planning (desirable)
- Experience in GUI development and/or the Mavenlink framework (desirable)
