We are excited to announce an opening for a Business Support Officer within our Student Wellbeing Support directorate.

• Location: Specific locations listed under ‘About the role’
• Required to work 3 days per week in an identified education office location.
• Salary: Clerk Grade 7/8 with base salary ranging from $113,574 to $125,720 per annum, plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
• Temporary full-time appointment for 2 years with possibility of conversion to ongoing

About the Student Wellbeing Support Directorate
Student Wellbeing Support provide direct support to schools to strengthen accessible and inclusive education practice to maximise wellbeing and learning for students in NSW public schools. The Student Wellbeing Support directorate includes four Student Wellbeing Support groups that service our schools across various principal networks. Student Wellbeing Support advances equitable outcomes through outcomes focused programs, systems, and processes.

Schools access our support through the one-call, Team Around a School model. The Team Around a School helps school teams to improve student learning and wellbeing practices and strengthens school and staff initiatives across the care continuum. We are a key enabler of the department’s Plan for Public Education and are committed to ensuring we provide support to schools that is efficient, effective, and easy to access.

About the role
The Business Support Officer plays a key role in delivering high-level business and administrative support to ensure the efficient and effective operation of key functions within the Student Wellbeing Support directorate. This role contributes to the achievement of strategic objectives by supporting business improvement initiatives, coordinating operational processes, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Position is to be based from the following education office location options:
Arncliffe, Campbelltown, Macquarie Park, Miranda, Nirimba (Quakers Hill), Ringrose (Greystanes), Riverwood, St Peters, Tuggerah, Warilla

About you
You are a proactive and detail-oriented Business Support Officer with strong expertise in providing high-level business, administrative and operational support within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You excel at coordinating diverse tasks, managing sensitive information with discretion, and building collaborative relationships with stakeholders to drive effective communication and service delivery. With solid skills in data analysis, reporting, and business process improvement, you contribute to informed decision-making and continuous operational enhancements. You are proficient in Microsoft Office and other business systems and thrive on balancing competing priorities independently while supporting strategic objectives and maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.

Key knowledge and experience:
• Sound data analysis skills and the ability to gather, interpret and present information to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated high level computer skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft office suites and Windows based applications.
• Demonstrated experience in managing the development and implementation of a range of business initiatives designed to improve organisational effectiveness.
• Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements:
• Hold a current and valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) for paid employment (or willing to acquire one)
• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
