Full job description

Examine foodstuffs and ingredients to ensure freshness and quality before preparation.

Regulate and monitor the temperatures of ovens, grills, fryers, and other cooking equipment.

Prepare and cook dishes such as sweet and sour sauce, honey sauce, fried chicken, pork, dumplings, and spring rolls in accordance with menu requirements.

Season food during cooking to achieve desired flavours and presentation standards.

Portion food, plate it attractively, and add gravies, sauces, and garnishes before serving.

Store food in appropriate temperature-controlled facilities to maintain quality and safety.

Prepare meals to meet special dietary requirements when requested.

Take inventory of remaining supplies, such as ice cream, vegetables, and milk, and report shortages.

Clean and maintain kitchen tools, cookware, and work areas to meet hygiene and safety standards.

Communicate with off-site staff to coordinate service speed and ensure timely food delivery.

Requirements:

Diploma or higher certificate of Hospitality required with minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Cook or in a similar role, or if no relevant qualification, at least 3 years of working experience as a cook or in a similar role

Strong technical skills in food production and quality present.

Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality standards.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced kitchen.

Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays.

Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene practices.
