Our Hobart Airport operation is about to go through a significant redevelopment with multiple brand new, modern, locally inspired venues opening over the next 24 months. We employ over 50 team members; due to an internal promotion we are now looking for a Head Chef to lead the kitchen operation.

Our Hobart Head Chef can expect -
Excellent work life balance – majority Monday to Friday shifts.
To be involved in multiple new venue openings over the next 24 months featuring local Tasmanian produce and well-known Tasmanian hospitality brands.
Eight new hospitality venues located across a refurbished and expanded Hobart Airport.

Job Description
Working closely with the Hobart Airport senior operations Assistant General Manager and with support from the National Culinary Team, you will manage, inspire and drive the kitchen team to create a great dining experience for our guests delivering consistent, high-quality food and memorable dining experiences.
Create a food safe environment by adhering to, enforcing and further development of our Food Safety Program.
Have a genuine passion for what you do, keeping up to date with Australian and International food trends, resulting in innovative menu development.
Developing positive customer relations through interacting with our guests and being the face of the kitchen.
Manage department operations, including budgeting, rostering, forecasting, resource planning, food costs, waste management & monthly stocktakes.
Foster positive relationships with key managers, department heads, suppliers and Hobart Airport Management to meet business needs.
Coaching and developing your team to succeed professionally via close communication with your team members, personal development plans, appraisals, training as well as reward and recognition programs.
Maintaining all company compliances by ensuring documentation is up to date (Food licenses, compliance, WHS, etc)
Qualifications
An experienced head chef or similar role as a senior chef (minimum of 12 months experience in a similar role), preferably with knowledge of the Cafe, Restaurant & retail sector environments.
Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude.
A proven ability to recruit, motivate and train successful teams and the capability of planning and reporting your strategy in achieving these goals
A progressive, creative professional who remains pragmatic and focused in an ever-changing and challenging fast-paced environment.
You will have a fun attitude and a generous approach to developing your team.
Sound knowledge of business reporting
Must hold current Food Safety Supervisor certificate
Access to your own transportation (Outside of public transport)
