Launceston, TAS | Full-Time Position (38 hrs/week)
Are you ready to take the reins at Felix Espresso & Wine, Launceston’s newest Italian-inspired pasta and wine bar? We’re seeking a passionate and creative Head Chef to join our small, close-knit team and vibrant venue.

About the Role:
As our Head Chef, you will:
Lead and inspire the kitchen team.
Work alongside the Executive Chef to create seasonal, monthly seasonal menus using the finest local produce.
Manage food ordering, kitchen efficiency, and cost control.
Present dishes to a high standard with an emphasis on elegant presentation.
Take initiative and implement new experiences for our guests.
You’ll be leading our small but productive kitchen, typically serving 20–40 covers per night, Wednesday through Saturday. The role offers significant creative license: our Head Chef is responsible for shaping the identity and direction of our food program at Felix.
About You:
You’re a self-motivated leader who loves food and wine, excels at organisation, and confidently delivers high standards. You’ll be skilled at managing kitchen operations, mentoring staff, and balancing creativity with consistency and performance. Ideally, you have a deep appreciation for both classic Italian technique and Tasmanian produce.

To Succeed, You’ll Need:
Trade qualifications and previous Head Chef experience.
Proven experience in menu development and cost control.
Dedication to creating a positive and efficient kitchen culture.
You must currently reside in Tasmania or be willing to relocate within 4 weeks of accepting the role.
