Our client is owned by Private Equity specialising in the industrial logistics industry. We are looking for an Interim Chief Financial Officer that holds prior experience in an asset intensive business. This individual will need to roll up the sleeves and work into the detail as well as leading a finance team of 6 and be a key part of the executive leadership group operating in a commercial and strategic manner.

We are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to step in on an interim basis and manage the day-to-day operations of the finance function. This organisation has gone through a lot of growth, and they need to drive change with systems, process and people. The interim CFO will be invited a lot to start these changes ahead of the permanent candidate getting appointed. Some of the responsibilities based off the permanent role are listed below:

Financial Leadership:

• Oversee financial strategy and management across all business units.
• Lead the finance team, focusing on implementing best practices, automating functions, and enhancing reporting and KPIs.
• Accuracy and timeliness of all reporting are essential.
• Maintain key relationships with Banks, Board and other stakeholders.
• Lead the financial planning and analysis functions, developing strategies to enhance economic performance.
• Oversee all financial reporting and compliance within accordance with accounting standards.
• Manage budgeting processes, cash flow projections, and financial forecasting to ensure the organisation's financial health.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement corporate strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Identify opportunities for operational improvements and cost reductions to optimise the financial performance.
• Build and manage relationships with investors, banks, and stakeholders to secure funding and cultivate growth opportunities.
• Ensure effective risk management and internal controls are in place to protect organisational assets.
• Drive financial performance reviews and present insights to the board of directors.
• Lead ESG governance framework and reporting.

Systems and Process Improvement:

• Start the process to transition finance systems replacing current systems (Xero). This is to support scalability and efficiency.
• Streamline manual processes, reduce spreadsheet reliance, and enhance business insights and board reporting.

Team Development:

• Refresh and restructure the finance team to ensure we have talented, CA-qualified accountants, bringing strong work ethics and fostering a collaborative culture.
• Ensure the team aligns with organisational goals and adapts to rapid growth and complex operations.
• Lead the team to work in a supportive manner with the operational teams and provide the Executives with the required financial information to enable timely decision making.

Candidate Profile

• CA/ CPA Qualified
• Previous experience as a Chief Financial Officer in a similar industry - exposure to an equity asset management or capital-intensive industry in a complex, diverse company with multiple locations
• Previous experience holding responsibility for the entire Finance Function, IT and Company Secretary.
• Prior experience in implementing process automation or a new finance system.
• Previous experience in a PE owned business would be beneficial.
