Position Summary
Position Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will play a key role in supporting the organisation’s strategic leadership and financial management, working closely with the CEO and other senior leaders. This hybrid role requires regular travel to PWHSAC sites, primarily based in Port Augusta, South Australia.
The CFO will:
Lead and support the finance team and corporate services administration.
Provide financial reporting and advice to the CEO and Board.
Manage relationships with government bodies, funding agencies, and partner organisations.
Oversee budget management across corporate, clinical, and program areas.
Support financial planning aligned with PWHSAC’s mission and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
Support the CEO with strategic leadership and day-to-day financial management.
Ensure effective and compliant financial administration.
Oversee prudent use of funds and risk management.
Lead the financial management team and collaborate with other departments.
Maintain and enhance financial systems, reporting, and controls.
Represent PWHSAC with stakeholders and funding bodies as required.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Tertiary qualification in business, accounting, finance, health administration, or related field.
Professional accounting qualification (CA or CPA preferred).
Proven experience in financial management, policy development, and strategic planning.
Experience working with Aboriginal communities and organisations preferred.
Strong understanding of financial governance, budgeting, and reporting standards.
Ability to engage effectively with government, funding agencies, and senior stakeholders.
Special Conditions
Include:
Appointment to the CFO position is subject to a satisfactory National Police/Criminal Record Check and any other relevant background checks determined by area of work, obtained through the Screening Unit, Department for Communities and Social Inclusion (DCSI). All checks are to be renewed every 3 years thereafter from date of issue to enable continuity of employment.
