Davidson is working with a local government client who is seeking an experienced Finance Officer. This role sits within the Financial Reporting Team.

About the Role

· Responsible for maintaining accuracy and integrity of cash balances and for performing transactional banking and investment functions.

· Provides support and assistance to the whole financial reporting team to ensure deadlines and deliverables are met.

· Completion of daily and month bank reconciliations.

· Prepare daily cash forecasts and arrange transfers between Council's accounts as required

· Load and authorise EFT transfers for accounts payable and payroll into Council's online electronic banking channel.

· Download agency files and distribute to relevant business areas.

· Monthly general ledger reconciliations.

· Provide relief and support to the other finance officer position within the team.

About you

· Demonstrated experience in a similar role.

· Experience in financial reporting.

· Have strong computer skills - MS Office - Excel, Outlook, Word

· TechnologyOne including Property and Rating experience would be an advantage.

· Have good communication skills - both written and verbal.

· The successful candidate will be required to complete a police check and a drug & alcohol test.

The Benefits

· $52.66 per hour + Super (PAYG Agency Contractor)

· Contract up to November 2025

· Townsville location

· Full-time hours, Monday to Friday (36.25 hrs p/w)
