About St Mark's Anglican Community School

St Mark’s Anglican Community School requires a Level 2 Computer Technician to assist in the delivery of IT support across the School under the direction of the IT Manager. The role is predominately a helpdesk role to support St Mark’s students and staff with their computer hardware and software. The successful applicant will join a five member IT Team.

The IT Team supports more than 1,500 computers, a One-to-One laptop environment of predominantly Windows but also Apple ecosystems, a large wireless and wired network, internet, printing, a help desk and many more IT related systems.

About You:

You are a reliable and eager person who is looking to start or continue your career in IT. You can work in a team environment, including working closely with students of all ages as well as with teaching and non-teaching staff. You can problem solve and multitask efficiently and effectively.

You must possess strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. The ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team is required. IT Skills and an understanding of the Windows environment, Apple operating systems, Microsoft Office 365 and audio-visual systems are advantageous. Previous work history supporting users on a helpdesk is desirable.

IT qualifications are desirable but not essential. Interest in technology, a proactive approach to learning and providing IT related services will be advantageous. Previous experience working in a School IT Department is highly desirable, but not a requirement.

A Working with Children’s Check and Police Clearance are required for this role.

The key areas of responsibilities include:

Assist in maintaining a functioning Help Desk for students and staff to provide support for School and student-owned equipment including hardware and software. Some contact with parents of students may be required.

Provide support for School-owned computers including hardware, software and functioning of software on multiple platforms.

Liaise with manufacturers and resellers to resolve issues with damaged or faulty computers, AV, photocopiers, printers and related hardware.

Provide first level support for other electronic devices.

Assist in maintaining a Loan Device pool for staff and students.

Cleaning of IT related equipment.

Other duties as directed by the IT Manager.
