We are a leading stockfeed manufacturing company in Victoria, Australia, renowned for producing high-quality products for the agricultural industry. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Fitter to join our team. This position is casual initially but full time for the right candidate; it plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes and maintaining our high standards of safety and quality.

As a Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for carrying out regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on machinery and equipment within the production facility. Your skills and experience will be essential in minimizing downtime, ensuring the reliability of machinery, and supporting the overall efficiency of our operations. The role requires shift work to ensure 24/7 operational continuity, so flexibility and reliability are key.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform regular scheduled maintenance on production equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operation.

Troubleshoot and repair machinery breakdowns promptly, minimizing production downtime.

Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.

Monitor and maintain equipment performance, identifying potential issues and addressing them before they cause significant disruptions.

Work closely with the production team to ensure equipment is operating at peak performance levels.

Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.

Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and spare parts usage.

Participate in the continuous improvement of maintenance processes to enhance the efficiency and reliability of operations.

Key Requirements:

Proven experience as a Maintenance Fitter in a manufacturing or industrial environment, ideally within the stockfeed, food production, or related industry.

Strong mechanical and technical skills with the ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide variety of machinery and equipment.

Knowledge of industrial systems and processes, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure the timely completion of tasks.

Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance and troubleshooting.

A strong commitment to safety and a solid understanding of workplace safety regulations.

Flexibility to work shift rotations as required to support 24/7 operations.

Trade qualifications in fitting, mechanical engineering, or a related field are essential.

Be motivated and have the ability to work on your own at times.

Desirable:

Experience in stockfeed manufacturing or similar industries.

Knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and automated systems.
