Where Your Story Begins:
We are seeking two experienced and safety-oriented Maintenance Fitters at our Cheltenham site in Melbourne.
Pay:

Starting rate will be dependent on experience, but annual income will be up to $150k+
Position 1: Rotating Shifts
The first Maintenance Fitter will ensure the plant and machinery in designated areas are properly maintained and operating efficiently, while considering costs and the production schedule. This position requires a good understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance.
This is a permanent full-time position. Throughout the first 6-month probation period, you will work Monday - Friday on dayshift (6am - 2.30pm). Following the successful completion of your probation, the roster will become 24/5 rotating, 12-hour shifts - with regular OT available on both rosters.
Week 1: 5 daysWeek 2: 5 nightsNo weekends: The 5 days and then 5 nights are consecutive minus Saturday and Sunday, then 7 days off. For example, you could start on a Wednesday, work dayshift Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Monday, Tuesday. Then nightshift Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Monday, Tuesday, then 7 days off.
Shift Hours:6am - 6pm6pm - 6am

Position 2: Day Shift
The second Maintenance Fitter will remain on a permanent day shift position (6am - 2.30pm, Monday - Friday) - with OT available paid at penalty rates.
Key Focuses & Responsibilities:

• Inspecting, testing, and maintaining machinery and equipment in process and packaging areas
• MIG, TIG, and ARC welding
• Condition monitoring to prevent breakdowns
• Fault finding and repairing pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical machinery, pumps, and conveyors
• Performing general plant and building maintenance work
• Proactively demonstrating a personal commitment to safety and our PROTECT safety culture
• Developing and maintaining positive work relationships within the team
• Working in a dynamic reliability team, you are proactive in your approach and have experience participating in a reliability process, including root cause analysis

To be successful in the role you will ideally need to possess:

• Trade qualification plus manufacturing, hydraulics, and pneumatic experience
• Experience working in a dynamic reliability team, with a proactive approach and participation in a reliability process, including root cause analysis
• Experience with a CMMS system and a strict and extensive reliability process
• Confined space entry, EWP, Working at Heights, and Rigging ticket
• Competence with MIG, TIG, and ARC welding (Mandatory)
• Previous exposure to pressure welding (well regarded)
• Ability to handle changing priorities
• Ability to work both supervised and unsupervised
• Ability to work independently (will be the sole Fitter on site at times)
• Condition monitoring experience - tech-savvy
• Ability for equipment fault finding and resolving issues to minimize unplanned equipment downtime events
