Helen’s Hill Winery is a family-owned Yarra Valley winery with a thriving bistro, bustling outdoor Lawn Bar, and a calendar full of functions and events. We’re known for outstanding wine, fresh food, and genuine hospitality.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Venue Supervisor to work closely with our Venue Manager in all aspects of running our busy winery venue. This role combines leadership, service, team development, and event coordination, offering variety and growth opportunities.

You’ll spend two days per week in our bistro and two days leading the outdoor dining team in our Lawn Bar. On Lawn Bar days, you’ll also be the on-site point of contact for all functions and events in our outdoor area. A key focus will be building and inspiring a high-performing team, delivering ongoing staff training, and ensuring every guest enjoys a memorable Helen’s Hill experience. In the future, you’ll have the opportunity to grow your role in events and functions at the venue.

Shifts are regularly rostered Friday to Monday, with occasional evening events as required.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Venue Manager in day-to-day operations across both the bistro and Lawn Bar

Lead, motivate, and develop FOH teams through coaching and training

Foster a positive, professional, and collaborative team culture

Oversee high-volume service while maintaining service excellence

Be the primary on-site contact for weekly outdoor functions and events

Work alongside the Functions Manager to ensure seamless event execution

Uphold venue presentation standards and guest experience expectations

Assist with planning and hosting future events and functions

What We’re Looking For

Proven hospitality experience (supervisory or management level essential)

Comfortable in high-volume service environments

Experience with functions and events preferred

Strong organisational and leadership skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Interest in wine is preferred, but not essential

Availability Friday through Monday, plus occasional evenings for events

Remuneration & Conditions

Paid in accordance with the Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2020 – Level 5 (Food & Beverage Supervisor)

Applicable weekend and public holiday penalty rates

Superannuation and allowances as per the Award

Leave entitlements in line with the NES and the Award
