The Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF) is a key agency at the very centre of government that provides specialist financial, economic and commercial advice to the Northern Territory Government. The Department has a well-established reputation for providing high quality, expert and specialist policy advice and services, to the Treasurer, Northern Territory Government (NTG), other agencies and the Territory community.
Currently, the DTF have several openings for Principal Policy Analysts (AO7) and Senior Policy Analysts (AO6) within the Financial Management Group. As part of this selection process all applications will be evaluated against both levels and offers of employment will be made based on experience and expertise.
As a Senior Policy Analyst, you will provide high-level evidence-based advice on strategic priorities, support government agencies to analyse policy problems and emerging issues and keep the Treasurer and the Executive informed on matters with resourcing and budgeting implications.
Principal Policy Analyst’s will undertake similar duties but at the more strategic level, shaping impactful policy directions and playing a leading role in divisional projects.
To be successful, a combination of highly developed communication and conceptual analytical skills, along with relevant experience in financial and policy analysis, is essential. These skills are fundamental in navigating the complexities of the professional landscape.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance, accounting, economics, commerce, law, or public policy, along with membership of a recognised professional accounting body, would be highly valued.
