Several Ongoing vacancies are available. Selection will be made at the AO6 or AO7 level depending on the experience/qualifications of the successful applicant.

Apply your financial and analytical skills to provide strategic advice to clients on the development of policy solutions and reform opportunities.

The Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF) is a key agency at the very centre of government that provides specialist financial, economic and commercial advice to the Northern Territory Government. The Department has a well-established reputation for providing high quality, expert and specialist policy advice and services, to the Treasurer, Northern Territory Government (NTG), other agencies and the Territory community.

Currently, the DTF have several openings for Principal Policy Analysts (AO7) and Senior Policy Analysts (AO6) within the Financial Management Group. As part of this selection process all applications will be evaluated against both levels and offers of employment will be made based on experience and expertise.

As a Senior Policy Analyst, you will provide high-level evidence-based advice on strategic priorities, support government agencies to analyse policy problems and emerging issues and keep the Treasurer and the Executive informed on matters with resourcing and budgeting implications.

Principal Policy Analyst’s will undertake similar duties but at the more strategic level, shaping impactful policy directions and playing a leading role in divisional projects.

To be successful, a combination of highly developed communication and conceptual analytical skills, along with relevant experience in financial and policy analysis, is essential. These skills are fundamental in navigating the complexities of the professional landscape.

Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance, accounting, economics, commerce, law, or public policy, along with membership of a recognised professional accounting body, would be highly valued.

If you're not currently in the Northern Territory, now might be the perfect moment to think about relocating to Darwin.

Experience a lifestyle that offers a harmonious blend of work and leisure, giving you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the breathtaking landscapes, tropical sunsets, and mesmerising lightning shows that the Territory has to offer.

Darwin's diverse multicultural environment and strong community bonds create an ideal setting for both living and enjoying recreational activities. During the interview process, relocation support and adaptable work arrangements can be explored further. Relocation assistance or flexible work agreements can be discussed at interview.
