About the role

Join Stockwood Building Group as a Junior Estimator based in our Notting Hill office. We are a proud family business specializing in a range of developments including boutique homes, multi dwelling projects, extensions and commercial projects. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for providing detailed cost estimates and proposals for a variety of construction projects, playing a vital part in the success of our growing business.

What you'll be doing

Reading and dissecting construction drawings and other building documentation. This includes architectural drawings, structural and civil engineering, drainage plans, landscape plans, town planning plans, soil and energy rating reports, joinery drawings, electrical plans, arborist reports and project specifications.

Liaise with contractors and suppliers to obtain quotations as per construction drawings and documentation.

Performing take-off calculations to estimate construction costs.

Liaising with clients, project managers and architects during estimating process regarding required documentations, inclusions and exclusions.

Ensuring timely completion of cost estimates using Bizprac software and generate the project budget.

Reviewing supplier quotations to ensure accuracy against construction documentation and specifications provided.

Negotiating with suppliers and contractors to maximise service delivery and achieve cost savings.

Preparation of contract project specifications, in line with estimates and quotations provided to clients.

What we're looking for

2 years of experience in a construction estimating role

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications

Proficient use of Bluebeam software and Microsoft Office. The use of Bizprac software would also be an advantage.

Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for identifying cost-saving opportunities

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with other team members.
