About the business and the role

GP@Northbourne, (previously Dickson General Practice) is a Clinician owned Family Practice aiming to provide the highest quality medical care to the community.

We believe that medical care starts even before the patient is seen by the clinical staff, at the first point of contact which is the reception.

We are looking for receptionists with good communication skills, phone etiquette and empathy. Candidates will be caring, patient and helpful to people in the waiting room. Practice opening hours are 8 am - 6 pm and flexibility with working hours is an essential criteria.

Previous medical reception experience is desirable.

Qualifications & experience

Medical reception experience is desirable but not required to apply, as training is provided. Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask. Reliable and punctual. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Tasks & responsibilities

Welcoming patients and visitors and attending to telephone enquiries and patient bookings. Managing patient bookings coming through various means like face-to-face, online and telephone bookings. Enhance the patient experience with a courteous and calm demeanour and a helping attitude.

Maintaining clean and healthy reception and clinic area. Processing billing through medical software. Liaising with Medicare and private health funds. Faxing, scanning, filing and mailing documentation. Maintenance of stationaries and clinical supplies

Maintaining information confidentiality to protect patient privacy. Liaising with other healthcare professionals with professionalism.

Assisting in clinical testing of patients.
