Veterinary Receptionist
Capital Veterinary Hospital
Posted 7 days ago
Are you an experienced receptionist who loves animals just as much as people?
If you're passionate about people and pets, and thrive in a fast-paced, team-focused environment, we would love to meet you.
About Us
We’re a small, busy veterinary hospital with a close-knit team that’s growing. Our focus is on delivering outstanding care, not just to animals, but to the humans who love them. We pride ourselves on being supportive, inclusive, and communicative, and we genuinely enjoy working together.
We're not your average clinic. Here, you'll be encouraged to contribute ideas, supported in your growth, and given the chance to truly make this role your own.
About the Role
We're looking for a skilled, motivated, and people-focused receptionist to become a vital part of our front desk team. You’ll be the first point of contact for our clients managing bookings, handling enquiries, and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the hospital.
Permanent part-time
Rostered shifts between 7am–7pm weekdays and some weekends
Weekday shifts: 7am–2pm or 12:30pm–7pm
Weekend shifts: 8am–2pm (on rotation)
Competitive pay: $28–$31 per hour + super (depending on experience)
Staff perks: Discounted vet care for your pets, ongoing training and development, and a team that truly has your back
About You
You’re an experienced receptionist or administrator (veterinary or medical experience strongly preferred) with a calm, professional approach and excellent communication skills. You enjoy being part of a team and bring a positive, can-do attitude, even on the busiest of days.
Proven experience in reception or admin roles
Availability to work flexible shifts within our opening hours (incl. rotating weekends)
Confident, clear communicator who handles pressure with resilience and grace
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet
Tech-savvy: comfortable using practice software, Microsoft Office, and online platforms
Physically fit and ready for the demands of a busy front desk
Why Join Us?
Because we believe work should feel meaningful. You’ll be:
Part of a genuinely supportive, kind, and respectful team
Encouraged to grow, learn, and bring your ideas to the table
Valued for the work you do, not just as a receptionist, but as a key member of the Capital Vet family.
How to Apply
Please submit your CV and a tailored cover letter explaining why this role appeals to you and how your skills align with our needs.
* Applications without both a resume and cover letter will not be considered
