📍 Lumos Bakery – McKinnon, Melbourne
🕒 Full-time | Early starts | Weekends included
At Lumos Bakery, we’re known for our inventive pastries (hello, Brownie Bombs), quality sourdoughs, and a light-filled space that draws locals from all over Melbourne. We’re passionate about precision, creativity, and building a great experience—on the plate and behind the counter.
We’re now looking for an experienced Pastry Chef to join our small, tight-knit team and take a lead role in our pastry kitchen.
🌟 Your Role:
As our full-time Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for:
Laminating doughs to a high, consistent standard (croissants, pain au choc, twists, and more)
Developing creative weekend specials and seasonal offerings
Maintaining product quality and consistency across all pastry lines
Working closely with the baker, kitchen team and FOH to coordinate daily production
Ordering dry goods and kitchen supplies, managing stock rotation and storage
Ensuring kitchen cleanliness, organisation, and food safety standards
👩🍳 You’ll Need:
Minimum 2 years pastry experience in a similar artisan bakery or patisserie setting
Confidence with laminated doughs and viennoiserie production
A strong creative eye for product development
Ability to work independently and lead morning prep when needed
A collaborative, team-focused approach—we’re a small crew that supports each other
