Adelaide Plains Council is the fastest growing Council area in South Australia with Two Wells at the epicentre of that growth. Located just 30 minutes north of Adelaide, Council is undergoing rapid transformation in the form or residential, commercial, retail, industry and horticulture investment with further expansion of these sectors firmly on the radar of the State Government's Draft Greater Adelaide Regional Plan.
Reporting to the Manager Governance, this important role will oversee Council's Property portfolio to ensure the property function of Council is maintained in a highly-effective and legislatively compliant manner.
Key responsibilities will include:
Oversee Council’s property portfolio, including the negotiation of acquisitions, disposals, leases, licences and other interests related to property;
Undertake land dealings, including the legislative and governance requirements, relating to the revocation/exclusion of community land, easements and permanent road closures;
Ensure Council complies with all legislative requirements relating to Crown Land under Council’s care, control and management;
Regular review of Council’s property portfolio, including community land, to determine opportunities for appropriate asset rationalisation and potential sale;
Provide support to Council’s Executive Management Team on property, policy, procedural and administrative matters and reporting to the Elected Body, and other stakeholders, as required.
The successful candidate will be a highly attentive and proactive professional and possess highly developed verbal and written communication skills with an ability to build positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Proven knowledge and experience in property management processes and principles preferably in a local government setting, highly developed negotiation and report writing skills, demonstrated ability to interpret legislation to ensure compliance and provide advice to various stakeholders of Council.
A current/valid Australian driver's licence (class C) is required to work across various sites (rotating between our offices based in Two Wells and Mallala) will be essential.
