Melton Physio is a thriving, patient-focused physiotherapy practice located in the heart of Melton. We are dedicated to providing outstanding care and achieving excellent outcomes for our community. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a meticulous and dedicated three days a week / Full-Time Bookkeeper to become the financial backbone of our clinic.
The Role
Reporting to the Practice Manager/Director, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of the practice. This is a crucial role that ensures the smooth and efficient operation of our financial administration, allowing our clinical team to focus on what they do best: caring for patients. You will be a key member of our administrative team, bringing your expertise and a proactive approach to our financial health.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable: Managing patient billing, processing payments (including HICAPS, DVA, WorkCover, NDIS), and diligently following up on outstanding accounts.
Accounts Payable: Processing and paying supplier invoices in a timely and efficient manner.
Bank & Account Reconciliation: Performing daily/weekly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and payment systems (e.g., HICAPS).
Payroll: Processing fortnightly payroll for our team of 8 staff, including managing superannuation, PAYG, and leave entitlements.
Financial Reporting: Preparing monthly financial reports (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet) for management review.
BAS Preparation: Preparing and lodging quarterly Business Activity Statements (BAS).
System Management: Maintaining accurate financial records within our accounting software Xero and practice management software Nookal.
Physiotherapist Metrics: Maintain accurate records of physiotherapists' key metrics and produce fortnightly reports for management review.
General Administration: Assisting with other financial and administrative tasks as required.
About You (Skills & Experience)
Essential:
Proven experience (minimum 3+ years) in a bookkeeping role.
Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping or equivalent qualification.
Proficiency with accounting software, particularly Xero.
Strong understanding of Australian payroll, superannuation, and BAS requirements.
Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
High level of integrity and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Desirable (Highly Regarded):
Previous experience working in a medical or allied health practice.
Familiarity with HICAPS, DVA, WorkCover, and NDIS billing processes.
Experience with practice management software such as Cliniko, Nookal, or similar.
