Rise centres are a special place where clients and staff alike enjoy the magic of creativity and joy of connection.
As our newest Activity Assistant, you will get your hands messy alongside our clients, supporting an array of activities such as pottery, painting, needlework as well as outings such a museum and café visits. This role is based at our Arts Hub in Warwick (Monday and Friday) and Peter Anderton Centre in Forrestfield (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 3.36pm.
🎨 What You’ll Be Doing:
Designing and delivering fun, inclusive and meaningful activities for aged clients
Joining the group on local outings such as nature walks, museum visits and coffee runs
Promoting wellness, community inclusion, skill-building and positive relationship
Transporting & driving clients on our 12-seater bus and/or in a 5-seater vehicle to and from the centre-based program
Supporting the growth of our volunteers and students
Ensuring all activities reflect and respect our clients’ cultures and backgrounds
🌈 The need-to-have…
Here at Rise, we nurture potential, but we do need you to have a few tricks up your sleeve including the following:
Qualification (or working towards) in Community Services, Aged Care or equivalent
Experience delivering a creative activity programs within a community and/or centre-based setting (planning, monitoring and delivery)
Experience working with vulnerable target groups including those who are living with disability, aged people and people with mental health.
Confidence with admin tasks, written communication and tech
Driving licence with ability and willingness to drive a 12-seat bus and/or 5-seater vehicle
First aid certificate (HLTAID009 and HLTAID011) or willingness to obtain
✅ Formalities (The serious stuff!)
Appointments to this position require a NDIS worker screening check and pre-employment audiometry test. Costs for new checks will be covered and/or reimbursed by Rise.
