The Senior Open Space Project Officer – Urban Precincts plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of public open spaces within the City of Gold Coast’s urban precincts. This position will lead tactical asset planning, stakeholder coordination, and delivery of high-quality, inclusive, and sustainable open space projects that enhance the liveability, identity, and environmental resilience of the city’s most dynamic and densely populated areas
About your new role
• Lead the planning and implementation of open space projects within designated urban precincts, ensuring alignment with city-wide strategies, community needs, and environmental objectives.
• Collaborate with internal departments, external stakeholders, developers, and community groups to deliver integrated and innovative open space solutions.
• Provide expert advice on urban design, landscape architecture, and placemaking principles to support the development of vibrant public realms.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and reporting requirements, ensuring efficient and transparent delivery of capital works and strategic initiatives.
• Conduct site analysis, feasibility assessments, and community engagement to inform project development and prioritization.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of open space assets and contribute to continuous improvement in planning and delivery practices.
We're looking for people who have:
• possess strong capabilities in asset management and urban planning, with demonstrated experience in asset maintenance and construction-related elements
• Diploma Of Project Management (or equivalent knowledge)
• Drivers Licence Class C Unrestricted
• Desirable: Trade or Construction Certification
• Desirable: Asset Management related Qualifications
• Desirable GIS proficiency, experience with local government, community consultation
