Casual Bookkeeper – 16 hrs/week – Remote

HSB Resources is a Brisbane-based safety consulting and resourcing business, providing HSE and operational support to clients across oil & gas, construction, and related industries. We’re looking for an experienced, detail-focused, and self-motivated Casual Bookkeeper to join our team, working approximately 16 hours per week. This is a remote role, offering flexibility while playing a key part in keeping our finances running smoothly. We’re seeking someone who is solutions-focused, able to identify opportunities for improvement, and confident in making suggestions to help us work smarter and more efficiently.

What you’ll be doing:

Processing payroll for employees and contractors

Managing accounts payable/receivable, including invoice preparation, reconciliation, and contractor payments

Accessing client systems (e.g. SAP, GEP) to prepare and submit financial data

Reviewing and finalising invoices prepared by our operations team, ensuring accuracy against project milestones

Verifying timesheets and expenses before final reconciliation

Preparing financial reports to track business cash flow

Performing account reconciliations and supporting BAS preparation

Ensuring compliance with client-specific payment terms

What you’ll bring:

Extensive experience with Xero (essential)

At least 3 years’ bookkeeping experience

Solid understanding of payroll, invoicing, reconciliation, and accounts management

Experience with cloud-based tools such as Monday.com, SAP, and GEP (preferred)

High attention to detail and ability to work independently

Strong communication skills for liaising with clients and team members

BAS preparation experience (preferred)
