The software solution is proven & solves an addressable gap in the market and is currently being used by an impressive list of blue chip brands.

The platform is a bespoke built Digital Work Management Solution that is a true end-to-end automation and mobility solution that is digitally transforming their customer environments by moving paper-based processes to full digital work execution. It is a market leading platform that sells itself, and has already been adopted by a huge list of customers across Australia & overseas. The competition is minimal, and the positioning of the business is extremely strong, allowing this BDM to really capitalize on the huge growth opportunity at hand.

As a Business Development Manager, you will play a critical role in scaling their new business sales. Your focus will be on targeting mid-tier mining companies in Australia. You will identify key stakeholders, initiate conversations, and run value-based sales processes aligned to a consultative & solutions based selling strategy.

Our client has been growing steadily over the years and have recently begun a growth trajectory to increase the size of the sales team, due to the huge potential and untapped market which their software solution can easily be sold into.

This role would suit a business development manager who want's to join a high growth tech business that will invest in your success and development & is willing to pay you the uncapped commission that you deserve, the sky is the limit in terms of earning potential.

Role responsibilities

Engage in new business consultative selling with longer sales cycles, specifically within the mining industry

You will be responsible for winning new business & expanding within these customers based on a land & expand approach

You will need to build sales pipeline off your own back and deepen the relationships across key mining clients

Own a defined list of prequalified target accounts & hunt new business within these

Identify and engage site-level stakeholders (e.g., Maintenance Managers, Superintendents, Planners)

Qualify opportunities, conduct discovery, and tailor value propositions to specific pain points

Prepare tailored proposals, commercial models, and deal justifications

Use structured sales methodologies (e.g., Gap Selling, Challenger, Miller-Heiman) to manage complex deals

Lead sales processes from first contact through to contract execution and handover to Delivery

Work with Pre-sales to deliver demos, trials, or proof-of-concept pilots

Leverage early success to engage group-level stakeholders (You will be dealing with multi-stakeholder customers)

Expand product footprint across departments, sites, and modules

Work with Marketing to tailor and utilise vertical-specific content

Collaborate with Pre-sales, SDRs, and Delivery to ensure smooth and timely sales cycles

Your key attributes & experience needed to apply for this role

Over 2 + years of B2B sales, specifically selling software / SaaS or technology solutions

Proven experience selling a software OR technology solution that is sold through a consultative & solutions based sales approach

Any industry experience in mining technology, asset management or maintenance systems is highly desirable but not essential

Proven experience dealing with long sales cycles (6 month +)

Proven experience selling to enterprise customers, meaning large logos

Demonstrated success in consultative / solution sales

Strong discovery and presentation skills, with experience leading multi-stakeholder deals

Grit, curiosity, and an interest in learning new things

Good problem-solving ability, comfortable working with technical business process concepts and long-cycle sales

Empathy and ability to engage confidently with operational and technical client stakeholders, it is important that you have experience speaking with all levels of stakeholders, from technical to non-technical

Coachability to enable constant improvements in the value you can bring our clients

Ability to travel regularly interstate to see customers, costs all covered by the business

Uncapped commission structure & full support from the business so you will be completely set-up for success, you will have direct access to the head of growth & a structured on-boarding & ramp up period so that you will be able to hit your targets with ease
