We are a member based, not for profit organisation, working with regional stakeholders and the wider tourism industry to promote this unique region to an intrastate West Australian market.

About the Role

We’re looking for an organised and enthusiastic Marketing & Admin Officer to join our small, passionate team in Perth WA. In this varied role, you’ll support the Marketing Manager in the delivery and development of our membership and regional capacity-building program, as well as various other marketing activities and campaigns. This role also coordinates the office administration responsibilities for Australia’s Golden Outback, including the management and coordination of our regional board meetings.

Reporting

This position reports primarily to the Marketing Manager of Australia’s Golden Outback. The CEO and Chairperson of the Board may provide direction on matters of an urgent nature or in relation to the administration requirements of Board meetings.

Key Result Areas and Duties

While these are the key responsibilities, the role offers variety and may evolve to contribute to the success of the organisation.

Marketing Responsibilities

As directed by the Marketing Manager, this role will assist in the implementation of destination marketing activities and stakeholder communication, including website updates and emails to members and stakeholders.

Coordinate collaborative marketing opportunities for members

Coordinate consumer trade show events in consultation with the Marketing Manager.

Coordinate the production of the annual holiday planner with support from the Marketing Manager.

Implement the Membership Engagement Plan.

Monitor and control the member and stakeholder databases.

Provide ongoing support and assistance to members.

Coordinate the procurement and retention of members, including: Implement any necessary changes to membership benefits, creation of membership kits, event invitations and reports. Process membership renewals and manage the membership database.

Liaise with members and potential new members on membership packages and other opportunities to maximise participation and increase engagement with Australia’s Golden Outback.

Maintain regular communication with Australia’s Golden Outback membership, including the delivery of regular newsletters and updates.

Maintain a database of non-member businesses to assist in the acquisition of new members.

Contribute to the planning and development of member capability building initiatives.

Office Administration

Management and coordination of all office administration, with the support of a bookkeeper.

Maintenance and preparation of financial records, invoice processing and corporate credit card acquittals.

Liaising with the Chairperson, coordinate all Board meetings, including preparation of agendas, reports, financials, taking/distribution of minutes, venue and travel arrangements.

Answer incoming telephone calls.

Support the Chairperson of the Board in Board and governance duties.

Review, recommend, design and implement office administrative systems and procedures.

Requirements of the Position (or Selection Criteria)

Essential

2 years + office administration experience.

Marketing experience, experience with EDM platforms e.g mailchimp

High level of written, verbal communication skills.

Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate activities and show initiative.

Not afraid to pick up the phone and talk to members

Able to proactively work alone, as well as with others and in teams.

High proficiency with Microsoft Office software, other IT systems & software.

Desirable

Experience in the tourism industry and understanding of the tourism sector

Creativity and promotional, and sales skills

Knowledge of Australia’s Golden Outback region and experiences.

Demonstrated experience in managing website content management systems.
