IT Support Field Engineer – Newcastle, NSW
$60,000 + Super + $1,000 Monthly Car Allowance

We’re on the hunt for a reliable, self-sufficient IT Support Field Engineer to join our growing team in Newcastle. If you enjoy being on the road, solving real-world tech problems, and providing professional onsite support to well-known clients, this role is for you.
About the Role
This is a field-based role where you’ll provide onsite support directly at client locations. The work involves hardware diagnostics, repairs, upgrades, installations, and general IT troubleshooting. You’ll be responsible for managing parts, coordinating service visits, and ensuring service levels are met.
Key Responsibilities
Onsite diagnosis, repair, installation, and upgrades of IT hardware
POS and general IT support (PCs, servers, routers, switches)
Tracking and managing stock from our warehouse locations
Updating job status, part usage, and closure notes after each site visit
Afterhours support and overnight jobs as required (10–12 overnight shifts per year)
Travel throughout Newcastle and nearby regions to meet client SLAs
About You
Proven experience in field-based IT support or hardware repairs
Strong skills in diagnosing and replacing IT hardware
Familiarity with retail IT systems, POS devices, and network hardware
Current Australian driver's licence (mandatory)
Able to work independently, prioritise tasks, and communicate effectively
Willing to work flexible hours, including afterhours and occasional overnight shifts
What We Offer
$60,000 base salary + super + $1,000/month car allowance
Paid overtime and afterhours standby rates
TOIL (time off in lieu) after overnight work
Reimbursement for work-related travel
Ongoing training and support to complete compliance requirements (White Card, police clearance, etc.)
