Senior IT Technician - Onsite and Remote
About Ape IT:
We are a small IT business operating throughout the Sydney metropolitan area providing clients with business and home support for computers and IT equipment. Due to the growth of the company over the last 12 months we are now looking for someone with a passion for technology and customer service to work as our new IT Technician. The position is a Full Time role. The job will primarily be based on the road, visiting clients across the Sydney metropolitan region and working from home
Our services include hardware and software repairs, server maintenance, business solution design, server deployments, wireless and wired network set-up, device setup (from computers, Smart TVs, to tablets and mobile phones), data backup and recovery solutions and just about any other type of technology support our customers require at their homes or offices.
Duties and responsibilities:
The main duties and responsibilities that will be performed within this role include;
- Visiting clients in their business or home to provide general IT support and troubleshooting
- Proactive monitoring and maintenance of customers' Systems & Services;
- Providing clients with software and hardware maintenance, updates and installations on PC/Mac’s
- Completing new user account set ups and network configurations
- Providing remote desktop support to clients
- Building relationship with clients to ensure maximum repeat business
- Contacting customers to generate reoccurring work
Skills and Experience
The individual’s personality, customer service skills, technical skills and eagerness to succeed will be the key ingredients to being successfully hired into this role. However other desirable skills/experience include:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience within a similar technical role
- Data cabling licence/experience will be desirable or trade qualification
- Must hold a valid Australian drivers license
- Sales Experience
- Cabling and WiFi
- Intune deployments
- Office 365
- Office 365 migration experience
- Windows 11/10
- Mac OS X
- Microsoft Windows Server
- Strong skills and certification across MS Technologies
- Mobile Phone OS, Windows Mobile/ Apple / Android
- Strong networking skills (routing and switching)
- Good experience with Wi-Fi Networks and Ethernet Networks
- Ability to engage and build relationships with clients
- A confident personality
- A strong and resourceful problem solver
- A quick learner with a desire to learn
- Excellent communication skills
- A great attitude
