In this impactful role, you will play a pivotal part in driving the government's priorities at the local level, fostering collaboration between key agencies, and ensuring that the needs of communities are met. You'll work closely with senior leaders to provide expert advice, resolve complex issues, and champion strategic planning initiatives that align with both regional and state-wide goals. We're Looking For

To succeed in this role, you will bring a mix of policy knowledge, coordination capability, and a genuine understanding of regional NSW. Specifically, we're looking for candidates with:

  • Strategic Thinking & Analysis: Demonstrated ability to undertake research and analyse complex data and policy information to provide evidence-based advice on regional issues, priorities, and opportunities
  • Written and Verbal Communication: Strong experience preparing high-quality reports, ministerial briefs, and correspondence; able to clearly explain complex concepts to senior leaders and stakeholders across varied settings
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration: Proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with regional stakeholders including local councils, NSW Government agencies, community groups, and industry partners
  • Problem Solving in Multi-Agency Environments: Experience identifying and escalating emerging issues, working across agencies to coordinate responses, and implementing solutions that reflect regional needs and align with government objectives
  • Government Knowledge and Contextual Awareness: Sound understanding of the structure and function of the NSW Government, including ministerial processes, regional development priorities, and inter-agency coordination frameworks.

Essential Requirements:

  • Current NSW Driver's Licence (regional travel may be required)
  • Knowledge of the economic, environmental, and social challenges facing regional and rural NSW
  • Familiarity with government service delivery and public administration processes is highly desirable
