We're Looking For
To succeed in this role, you will bring a mix of policy knowledge, coordination capability, and a genuine understanding of regional NSW. Specifically, we're looking for candidates with:
- Strategic Thinking & Analysis: Demonstrated ability to undertake research and analyse complex data and policy information to provide evidence-based advice on regional issues, priorities, and opportunities
- Written and Verbal Communication: Strong experience preparing high-quality reports, ministerial briefs, and correspondence; able to clearly explain complex concepts to senior leaders and stakeholders across varied settings
- Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration: Proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with regional stakeholders including local councils, NSW Government agencies, community groups, and industry partners
- Problem Solving in Multi-Agency Environments: Experience identifying and escalating emerging issues, working across agencies to coordinate responses, and implementing solutions that reflect regional needs and align with government objectives
- Government Knowledge and Contextual Awareness: Sound understanding of the structure and function of the NSW Government, including ministerial processes, regional development priorities, and inter-agency coordination frameworks.
Essential Requirements:
- Current NSW Driver's Licence (regional travel may be required)
- Knowledge of the economic, environmental, and social challenges facing regional and rural NSW
- Familiarity with government service delivery and public administration processes is highly desirable
