Summary:
We are seeking the 3-day Part-time Kitchen Assistant. If the successful candidate has experience working in early childhood education centres it will be great.
The Centre
Bubup is a community run, not-for-profit organisation providing integrated early learning and care services to the community. We provide the Community Outreach in our Reception including; Bubup Pantry, Swap Shop, Weekly Food bags and yearly Christmas hampers for vulnerable families, Parent Zone and Community Support Zone
The primary role: A Kitchen Assistant performs a variety of cooking duties, including preparing food, testing new recipes, cleaning the kitchen, plating dishes, and maintaining supplies. A Kitchen Assistant in this role should have excellent communication skills and a focus on prompt, efficient, and courteous service to support children and educators.
Suitable applicants should have:
Certificate in Food Handling, Nutrition and Menu planning or equivalent
Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate
Clear understanding of the Food Safety Program.
A current approved first aid qualification (if have)
A current Victorian Working with Children Check
Previous work experience as a Kitchen Assistant is strongly desired or preparation of food for large groups.
Previous experience preparing nutritious and balanced meals for children is desirable
Work right in Australia - This is a permanent / ongoing position. Applicants must have full, ongoing, and unrestricted work rights in Australia at the time of application.
