About the role

Smithy's Group is seeking an experienced Waterproofer to join our team in Sydney, NSW. As a Waterproofer, you will be responsible for ensuring the waterproofing of various building structures, including roofs, lift pits, balconies, and bathrooms across Sydney. You will utilise a range of waterproofing techniques, such as torch-on membranes, joint sealing and liquid membranes. This position offers the opportunity for growth and skill development within the team.

What you'll be doing

Inspect and assess construction sites to identify waterproofing requirements

Prepare surfaces for waterproofing application, including cleaning and priming

Apply waterproofing membranes, sealants, and coatings to designated areas

Ensure proper curing and drying of waterproofing materials

Identify and resolve any waterproofing issues or defects

Maintain accurate records and documentation of all waterproofing activities

Work collaboratively with other tradespeople to ensure seamless project completion

What we're looking for

Formal qualification in waterproofing or a related building trade

Minimum 1 year of practical experience as a Waterproofer

Strong understanding of waterproofing techniques, materials, and industry standards

Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work

Ability to work safely and comply with all relevant health and safety regulations
