Your Opportunity
As the Project Officer, Commercial Business you will be responsible for:
- Contribute to the TAFE Queensland strategic objectives through the application of project management techniques to plan, develop and implement specific commercial projects and activities; and
- Identify and maximise the revenue generation and growth potential of the organisation.
This position reports to the Manager, Program Management Office.
This is a Permanent, Full-Time opportunity. The position will be primarily working flexibly across TAFE Queensland’s operation in line with the One TAFE Operating Model.
Key Responsibilities
- Work strategically with internal and external stakeholders to contribute to negotiations and develop and implement projects to support the Commercial Business strategy and network.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting that supports decision-making and enhances transparency within the Commercial Business network.
- Execute high level project management skills to manage the end-to-end delivery of commercial and internal projects in alignment to the Commercial Business Framework, including highly developed research, analytical and problem solving skills to gather and compile information, develop reports and make educated decisions and recommendations.
- Manage and maintain effective, professional communications and working relationships with a broad range of internal and external clients and stakeholders at strategic and operational related to specific project outcomes and the benefit to the business.
- Provide advice and report on the progress of relevant aspects of commercial business activities to senior/supervising staff as required to ensure that project and team activities are consistent with organisational requirements and that priorities and timelines are met.
- Support the Commercial Business Network to develop and implement project methodologies, resources and tools to achieve outcome including the establishment and monitoring of team sites and related system.
- Contribute to the continued success of the organisation through participation in Commercial Project and team activities, performance management processes and professional development and training programs.
- Design and implement targeted communication strategies in consultation with senior members of the team including EDM campaigns, stakeholder updates, and promotional content that align with the Commercial Business Framework and support strategic outcomes.
- Extract, analyse and report data from the B2B CRM system to support Commercial Business activities and performance tracking.
- Provide oversight and coordination of systems that support the implementation and operation of the Commercial Business Framework, including the B2B CRM, Commercial Business Team Site, and others as approved by the Executive Director, Director/Manager of the Commercial Business Team.
- Lead the development of regular reports on TAFE Queensland commercial operations, including performance metrics, risk indicators, and milestone tracking aligned to the Commercial Business Reporting Framework.
- Maintain an understanding of the commercial aspects of TAFE including financial and business performance and any impact from external factors.
- Actively engage with the Commercial Business Network, industry, business and the community.
- Model and promote an ethical and safe work environment that supports a culture of zero harm and best practice regarding health, safety, wellness and sustainability.
- Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the values of Safety First, Working Together, Focusing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility and Showing Initiative.

- Act as a strong advocate for TAFE across and attend to industry events and participate on relevant committees as required.
- High level communication skills and the ability to sustain productive stakeholder relationships and work collaboratively with executives, staff and diverse stakeholders, both internal and external to TAFE Queensland to achieve commercial outcomes for the business.
- High level of interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to consult and negotiate on significant issues with various internal and external stakeholders.
Highly Desirable Requirements
- A qualification in project management or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience in working with diverse stakeholders to achieve project outcomes in a skills and workforce development or community engagement role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of computer systems including Office 365, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Project Management Systems.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.
- A team player with an ability to encourage and increase collaboration between stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
