About the role
Silkwood Funerals' is seeking a dedicated Funeral Director Assistant to join our team in Dianella, Western Australia. This full-time role is an excellent opportunity for an individual passionate about providing compassionate and professional funeral services to the local community.
As the Funeral Director Assistant, you will play a crucial part in supporting the Funeral Director in all aspects of funeral planning and service delivery. Your primary focus will be to ensure the smooth coordination of funerals, from initial client consultation to the final farewell.
What you'll be doing
Assist the Funeral Director in all aspects of funeral arrangements, including liaising with clients, coordinating with third-party providers, and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed
Provide support during funeral services, including setting up the venue, assisting mourners, and ensuring the service runs seamlessly
Maintain the funeral home's facilities and equipment, ensuring a clean, well-organised, and professional environment
Contribute to the development and implementation of new processes and procedures to enhance the overall client experience
Participate in ongoing training and development to stay up-to-date with industry regulations and best practices
What we're looking for
Previous experience in a customer service or funeral industry role, preferably as a Funeral Director Assistant or in a similar position
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathise and provide compassionate support to grieving families
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and care
A flexible and adaptable approach, with the willingness to work outside of standard business hours as required
A genuine interest in the funeral industry and a commitment to providing exceptional service to the local community
