Our client is a highly regarded Australian-owned business delivering innovative civil construction and engineering solutions across major infrastructure, urban development, and resources projects.
About the role
This is a rare opportunity to step into a newly created People & Culture Advisor position and make it your own. Reporting to the People & Culture Lead, you’ll provide trusted advice and expert support across all areas of HR, with a particular focus on complex employee relations and compliance. You’ll lead key initiatives, coach managers, and shape the way the organisation delivers its people strategy. You’ll also have the support of a P&C Administrator as a direct report.
The opportunity
Based at the Gold Coast (Helensvale) HQ, with flexibility to work from other offices and just one monthly site visit, this role offers variety, challenge, and scope to influence. You’ll be the go-to for ER and IR matters, remuneration and benefits, and the delivery of engagement and development programs that make a real difference to employees at all levels.
You’ll also:
Lead investigations and manage complex ER matters with professionalism and discretion.
Oversee remuneration and benefits processes, performance reviews, and compliance audits.
Provide expert IR advice, including award interpretation and Fair Work updates.
Deliver key projects such as employee engagement events, recognition programs, and corporate initiatives.
Partner with managers to embed best-practice people solutions.
Contribute to recruitment, training, and leadership development.
What you bring
4–5 years in a generalist HR role, with proven ER and investigation experience.
Strong understanding of IR, EBAs, and award interpretation.
Experience in construction or heavy industry (Tier 1 or Tier 2 highly regarded).
Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and critical problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage projects independently while collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
