🍳 About the Role

Bright Patch Cafe is a brand-new, family-friendly cafe in Proserpine, Queensland's heart. We serve fresh, quality breakfast and lunch meals in a warm and welcoming environment.

We're seeking a passionate chef/cook to join our friendly team! We'd love to hear from you if you love creating delicious, homestyle meals and enjoy working in a supportive, fast-paced kitchen.

What You'll be Doing

Preparing and cooking breakfast and lunch dishes to a high standard

Assisting in the creation of daily specials and seasonal menu items

Ensuring consistent portion control and presentation

Maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, following food safety standards

Managing prep and stock rotation

Communicating effectively with front-of-house

Occasionally assisting with menu development or catering orders

Monitoring stock ordering and delivery

What We're Looking For:

Experience as a chef or cook in a similar café or casual dining environment

Minimum 2 years' experience as a chef or cook in a café or casual dining environment

Passion for fresh, simple, and delicious food

Ability to work independently as you may often be in the kitchen alone

Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices

Reliability, good time management, and a positive attitude

Availability to work mornings and weekends (no night shifts!)

Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification

Valid Food Safety Supervisor Certificate

Right to work in Australia is essential

Must be able to pass a National Police Check
