Tidal Therapy are seeking Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners to join our team on a contract basis. We practice in heart centered ways, deeply valuing and nurturing connection and diverse ways of doing, knowing and being. We are a small business located in Yaegl Wadyarr (country) and work across Yaegl and Bundjalung Jagun (Iluka, Yamba, Maclean, Casino, Lismore, Alstonville, Ballina). Being a trauma and healing informed and neurodivergent affirming practitioner who values both person centered and community centered practice is important to us.

This is a contracted role and will be renumerated to your level of experience and expertise from $120-$150 plus super.

What we are looking for:

- Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, OT or other relevant profession to the field of behaviour support

– Registered as a Behaviour Support Practitioner (Core, Proficient, or Advanced/Specialist).

- Experience providing direct behaviour support

- Experience in providing clinical and / or behaviour assessment, intervention and support in the disability, out-of-home care and / or other relevant sectors.

– NDIS Worker Screening, Working With Children Check (WWCC), completion of NDIS Worker Modules, and PRODA registration.

– Professional indemnity and public liability insurance.

– Own ABN, driver’s license, reliable vehicle, laptop, phone, and other essential tools for the role.

– Any other registrations, training, or compliance requirements relevant to the role or as required by NDIS and industry standards.

- Ability to build strong, respectful relationships with diverse stakeholders

- Skilled at writing clear, evidence-based behaviour support documentation

- Commitment to working in partnership with First Nations children, families and communities

Tasks and Responsibilities

- Complete functional behaviour assessments

- Develop interim and comprehensive, trauma-informed Behaviour Support Plans and carry out required restrictive practice protocol if required

- Collaborate closely with participants, families, supports and all key stakeholders

- Use positive behaviour and strength-based approaches

- Train and support carers and key support people in implementing strategies across all settings

- Deliver psycho-education on behaviour, trauma, attachment and regulation

- Be able to deliver engaging and meaningful intervention in a person centered and trauma informed way

- Contribute to a learning culture through reflective practice, training and collaboration

- Maintain partnerships with external stakeholders to inform and enrich practice
