Position
This temporary position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day business operations of the School during the Business Manager’s leave for 5 weeks. Reporting to the Headmaster, the role ensures continuity across financial management, administration, compliance, facilities and general operations — allowing the leadership team to remain focused on educational outcomes.
Profile:
- Manage daily financial operations including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and cash flow
- Ensure adherence to financial policies and maintain accurate financial records
- Authorise payments and transactions in line with school protocols
Administration, Risk Management & Compliance:
- Oversee marketing, ICT and general administrative functions
- Maintain compliance records, contracts, and insurance documentation
- Ensure risk management procedures and regulatory reporting are upheld
Property & Facilities Management:
- Coordinate facilities maintenance, contractor schedules, and service agreements
- Ensure the school site remains safe, compliant, and operational
Leadership & Human Resources Support:
- Provide leadership and guidance to administrative staff
- Ensure payroll continuity and maintain employee records
- Address HR-related queries and deliver operational reporting as needed
Stakeholder & Vendor Management:
- Assist with Company Secretarial duties as required
- Liaise with School Council and external service providers
Profile:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in finance, accounting or business (essential)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial and business operations
- Previous experience in an education setting is desirable but not essential
- Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
