About the position We are seeking multiple Mental Health Clinicians to support consumers and liaise with local medical centres within the Junee, Cootamundra and Federation LGAs via the Team Care Mental Health Support (TCMHS) in General Practice program.
The positions are part time opportunities. The service will operate 3 days a week and candidates should be flexible and available to work across multiple sites, including on weekends and outside of normal business hours, as needed. This position reports to the Service Manager and offers the opportunity to:
- Provide immediate intervention and support to consumers experiencing crisis or significant distress.
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments to determine care needs and collaboratively develop care plans with consumers and their support networks.
- Deliver evidence-based psychological strategies to consumers, either individually or in group settings.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of GPs, mental health professionals and external service providers to deliver integrated care.
We are looking for someone with:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Mental Health Nurse, Psychologist (registered or clinical), Occupational Therapist (accredited with OTA as meeting the Australian Competency Standards for Occupational Therapists in mental health), or as an AASW mental health accredited Social Worker.
- Demonstrated ability to practice within a recovery-oriented and trauma-informed framework, including person-centred care planning and strengths-based approaches.
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to continuous quality improvement and evidence-based practice, including use of validated outcome measures (e.g. HoNOS, Early Intervention Framework).
- Proven ability to establish collaborative partnerships and deliver evidence-based interventions that support holistic, goal-oriented recovery for individuals with complex mental health needs.
- A substantial understanding of health services across the Murrumbidgee region would be beneficial.
