About us headspace provides support to young people aged 12-25 experiencing mild to moderate or emerging mental health issues. The multidisciplinary team at headspace Oran Park work to improve health, social, vocational and educational outcomes for young people.

Grand Pacific Health is the lead agency of headspace Oran Park. We are a not-for-profit, primary health care organisation providing locally-tailored, high quality physical and mental health services across NSW and the ACT. About the position The Mental Health Clinician will work collaboratively with a young person and their family/carers to identify support needs, goals and to develop collaborative care plans. They will provide high quality psycho-social assessment and evidence-based, focused interventions. This position works closely with the other members of the headspace team and external service providers and works to maximise care outcomes for young people referred to headspace.

We have a position available in Oran Park, full time is preferred however part time will be considered. This is a fixed-term opportunity to 30 June 2026 with an extension expected subject to additional funding.

We are looking for someone with:

  1. Current AHPRA registration as a clinical psychologist, registered psychologist, or occupational therapist (accredited with OTA as meeting the Australian Competency Standards for occupational therapists in mental health), or accreditation with the AASW as a mental health social worker (or working towards this).
  2. Experience in assessment and diagnosis of mental health disorders, and provision of Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy and other evidence-based focused psychological strategies
  3. Demonstrated understanding of key issues in relation to the health and wellbeing needs of young people with mental health and/or substance use problems.
  4. Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate effectively with young people and their friends, family and carers.
  5. High standard of computer literacy and data entry competency including MS office and demonstrated capacity learn new technologies including clinical software packages.
  6. Current driver's license and willingness to travel for the role.
