Prahran Market is looking to attract a new Finance Manager to be a part of the team delivering the vision, master plan and business plan for this vibrant community and shopping experience.

Established in 1864 , Prahran Market is a vibrant and iconic destination for food lovers and culture enthusiasts alike. But now it about to undergo a new wave of transformation to create the ultimate market experience in many different ways.

The Finance Manager is a member of the executive team

The role is full time but part time will be considered if you have the necessary experience and skills to drive the outputs required.

An appreciation of how the market operates across the weekend is also important but we do strongly believe in work life balance.

But this is no ordinary finance role and we want more than a good spreadsheet 

This person will need to

Ø Engaging shoppers, traders and the community

Ø Love food, Love the market vibe and enjoy all of the things that make up a real market experience.

Ø Engage and be effective in managing key stakeholder relationships including the Board , Council and other authority bodies.

The higher purpose of the role INCLUDES

1. Ensure our core finance functions are simple, efficient and enable the business to deliver positive commercial outcomes for the business

2. Work with traders and stakeholders for mutually positive outcomes

3. Work with the CEO & Board to help shape our future business plan and investment rationale that will support our future vision

WHAT WILL YOU DO ?

· Finance & Management accounting

· Financial Governance

· Provision of Business Intelligence and oversight of business performance

· Information Technology

· Property Accounting

· Annual budget and cashflow planning

· HR Administration including payroll, policies and contracts

· Capex & Project management

· Council reporting

· Legal contract and commercial arrangements

WHO IS THIS PERSON ?

This is an ideal role for a career minded finance person who wants to develop their commercial and financial skills in a stand alone business.

You are hungry to progress and willing to learn.

Attitude is everything and this will provide great experience for your financial leadership & for you career development.

It is likely that the successful applicant will come from a retail business, hospitality or property background

We would love ,

Some experience with property and leasing in retail and or customer facing businesses

Some property management accounting experience.

Knowledge of leasing, retail tenancies, debtors and leasing administration is an advantage

Interpersonal skills to engage customers, traders and all key stakeholders

Financial, budget and project capex responsibility

A curious mind to seek and find new and interesting concepts that will surprise and delight market shoppers
