The Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and commercially-minded Senior Finance Manager to join our dynamic, growing business. In this key leadership role, you will be at the helm of our finance function, taking full ownership of financial management and reporting for our Australian and US operations. Reporting to the CFO, you will be a crucial part of the leadership team, providing the financial insights that drive business performance and continually improve financial systems and processes.
What You'll Do
Take full ownership of the integrity of the general ledger and all subsidiary ledgers, overseeing complex balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring robust financial controls are designed, implemented, and operating effectively.
Manage all technical accounting matters, including researching and implementing new accounting standards and preparing position papers on complex transactions.
Oversee all corporate tax compliance activities, including the management of FBT, BAS, and income tax returns, acting as the key liaison with external tax advisors and the ATO.
Drive the annual external audit process from planning to completion, ensuring all requirements are met and a smooth engagement is achieved.
Champion continuous improvement by leading projects to enhance financial systems and processes; this includes optimising the use of our ERP, automating workflows, and improving the efficiency of the reporting cycle.
Manage the annual budgeting and regular forecasting cycles, ensuring the collation of accurate data from across the business and providing detailed variance analysis to management.
Mentor, lead, and develop the finance team, building technical capability and fostering a culture of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
Oversee the Group's cash flow and treasury functions, implementing strategies to optimise liquidity and financial health.
- Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards (AASB/IFRS).
What You'll Bring
You are a qualified CA or CPA with extensive experience in a senior finance role, such as a Financial Controller or Finance Manager. Your background includes working within a product driven industry with complexity around inventory and / or manufacturing / bill of materials, giving you a comprehensive understanding of diverse financial environments. Your technical accounting skills are your core strength, with expertise in financial reporting, consolidations, and statutory compliance. This is complemented by exceptional analytical and strategic thinking abilities, and you have a proven track record of leading budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes that drive business performance.
A natural leader, you have proven experience in leading and mentoring a finance team to foster a culture of high performance. You lead from the front with a proactive, hands-on style and a genuine passion for continuous improvement and supporting business growth. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills allow you to build effective partnerships across all levels of the organisation and influence key stakeholders.
