Our client, a Commonwealth Government organisation whose focus is to provide support to Australian's living with disability, are seeking the experience of a Senior Data Scientist for a long 12 + 12month contract to deliver AI-driven solutions in a complex stakeholder environment.

Duties of the Senior Data Scientist

• Researching and implementing innovative techniques and interdisciplinary methods to solve business issues with a focus on application of AI/data science and statistical technique;
• Designing statistical, mathematical, and various data science models to conduct analytical work that addresses business issues.

Skills and Experience Required

• 4+ years of actuarial / data scientist experience
• Proficient Python or R programming skills including data manipulation, analysis and model development/deployment
• Demonstrated experience in application of Artificial Intelligence, particularly in Natural Language Processing (NLP) to extract information and design of decision-support systems
• Proficient in SQL, accessing databases and data storage systems (e.g AWS S3)
• Working knowledge & understanding of AI Assurance and Governance frameworks relating to the development of ethically sound and safe AI systems.
