What you'll be doing
The Department of Medical Physics at Westmead Hospital is the largest Diagnostic Imaging Medical Physics Department in NSW. You will be part of a collaborative team with access to a wide range of physics resources and imaging modalities.
This unique role supports multidisciplinary research in radiation therapy, focusing on translational development in treatment planning and imaging, including particle therapy, with the goal of advancing clinical practice.
As the Medical Physics Specialist in this role you will be:
Supporting research under senior ROMP leadership.
Focusing on translational techniques in radiation therapy.
Contributing to imaging and treatment planning innovations.
Working on innovative ways to to implement new methods into clinical workflows.
Applying your knowledge with strong research and leadership skills suited to ROMPs.

Essential Criteria:
License: Current NSW EPA license IA29 and S29
Qualifications: PhD (Major in Physics) recognised by the Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM) Certification in Radiation Oncology Medical Physics or in Radiotherapy Equipment Commissioning and Quality Assurance within the last three years.
Applicants who have completed the ACPSEM Training Education and Assessment Program (TEAP) written exam and expect to be certified within 3 months may be considered.
Selection Criteria:
Demonstrated experience in the technical and scientific areas such as particle therapy medical imaging, treatment planning, computer vision, IT and its application to health.
Demonstrated ability and research experience including, but not limited to, publications and conference contributions.
Demonstrated skills and knowledge in scientific methods, analysis, writing and communications.
Proven record of strong organisational and project management skills.
Proven ability to both work in a team in close collaboration, as well as the ability to work independently.
