About Us
The Law Enforcement Conduct Commission (LECC) is an independent body exercising royal commission powers to detect, investigate and expose serious misconduct within the NSW Police Force (NSWPF) and the NSW Crime Commission (NSWCC). The LECC also independently monitors and reviews the investigation of complaints by the NSWPF and the NSWCC about the conduct of their officers. In doing so the LECC recognises the primary responsibility of those agencies to investigate and prevent officer misconduct and corruption within those agencies, while providing for oversight of those functions.

The LECC also undertakes independent, real-time monitoring of critical incident investigations undertaken by the NSWPF and can make reports on the conduct of critical incident investigations by the NSWPF.

The LECC plays a key role in strengthening the integrity of law enforcement in NSW.

We are currently seeking an IT System Support Officer in our IT team. The LECC’s IT team provides all IT related services and support for the Commission, including developing IT strategy, information security, network and system administration, business intelligence, data analytics, cloud deliveries and Help Desk support.

About the role

The IT System Support Officer provides assistance with technology-related issues, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and setup of computer systems, networks and software.

This role also provides coordination and support in the design, delivery and management of projects, business requirements, policies and services.

The IT System Support Officer provides a responsible user request and problem resolution service to deliver high quality, timely and customer focused support for the LECC and external users.

The LECC offers varying flexible working arrangements, the IT System Support provides a frontline service role to the Commission and is expected to work onsite at the Commission’s offices in Sydney’s CBD four days per week.

To be suitable for this role you will have:

• Demonstrated experience in providing comprehensive IT help-desk support within a complex application and systems environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 services, including SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, and Teams, alongside strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Configuration Manager (Intune/SCCM), Windows client operating systems, and network protocols.
• Highly developed communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience assisting with the planning, administration and implementation of IT projects.
• Experience positively engaging with teams, sharing technical information and solving issues and problems at all levels across an organisation.

Eligibility

• To be eligible to apply for this role you must be an Australian citizen.
• The LECC Act 2016 (Sec 21) prohibits the appointment of current and former sworn members of the NSW Police Force or NSW Crime Commission to this role, however current and former civilian (unsworn) employees of the NSW Police Force and NSW Crime Commission may apply.

Security vetting

• The successful applicant will undergo a stringent security vetting process to establish reliability, trustworthiness, integrity and suitability of employment. In addition, LECC officers are also required to obtain a commonwealth security clearance, with the IT System Support requiring clearance at a NV1 classification.

Question 1 - Please provide an example of a situation where you resolved a complex technical issue for a user. Describe your troubleshooting process from initial diagnosis through to the resolution, also explaining how you communicated with the end-user throughout the process.

Question 2 – Please provide an example when you supported a project from planning through to implementation. Describe how you managed risks and competing priorities to deliver results within expected timeframes.
